Alex is in the runoff and was endorsed by the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation. He is a teacher and a Texas AFT member in Clear Creek ISD.

Court Support:

  • Provide judges, attorneys, and litigants with reliable access to records, filings, and courtroom resources.

Technology Modernization:

  • Improve e-filing systems, digital records, and applications used internally and in collaboration with other justice agencies, such as the District Attorney’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity protections. Maintain a qualified, trained, professional, and tenured workforce, and ensure employees receive equitable compensation and opportunities for career advancement.

Accessible Records:

  • Maintain reliable online and in-person access to court documents, consistent with the Texas Public Information Act.

Clear Public Guidance:

  • Provide step-by-step instructions for common services such as obtaining court records, paying fees, and fulfilling jury service.

Data Dashboards:

  • Publish statistics on filings, case resolution times, and jury participation to strengthen transparency.

Language Accessibility:

  • Provide materials in Spanish, Vietnamese, and other commonly used languages in Harris County.

Public Awareness & Outreach:

  • Many residents do not fully understand what the District Clerk’s Office does. Outreach builds trust and ensures people know how to access service

Public Education Campaigns:

  • Explain services such as jury service, court records access, e-filing assistance, and passport services.
  • Educate high school seniors on the importance of jury service once they turn 18, as well as registering to vote.

Partnerships:

  • Work with the Harris County Commissioners Court, Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s Office, local law libraries, bar associations, and community groups.

Community Workshops:

  • Host sessions such as “Know Your Court Records” and “How the Court System Works.”

Digital Engagement:

  • Use social media, newsletters, and videos to explain services in simple, accessible terms.
